High View of God / Low View of Self
You See God Clearly — But You Struggle to See Yourself
Tony Portell
If this result resonates with you, it may mean you deeply honor God’s greatness, yet quietly struggle to believe your own life, voice, and calling truly matter. That tension can leave you feeling small, hesitant, and unsure of your place—even when your heart longs to serve faithfully.
What This Means
You have real faith. You believe God is powerful, good, and worthy of everything. That's not the problem.

The problem is that somewhere along the way, you started believing that God's greatness and your worth are in competition — that the more seriously you take Him, the less you're allowed to take yourself.

So you stay small. You volunteer for everything but struggle to receive anything. You work hard to be worthy but quietly wonder if you ever will be. You call it humility — but deep down you know it's costing you something.
What Insignificance Can Feel Like
You may minimize your gifts, second-guess your decisions, or assume others are more qualified, more spiritual, or more useful than you. Even with sincere faith, you might carry an inner belief that your needs should stay quiet, your presence should stay small, or your contribution is somehow less important.
A Faith-Based Perspective
Humility is holy — but shrinking back from the worth God has placed in you is not the same as humility. Moses didn't feel qualified either. Neither did Gideon, Isaiah, or Peter. God didn't tell any of them to become adequate first. He said: "Go in the strength you have. I'll be with you."

What if believing you're too small is actually a subtle way of saying God's grace isn't big enough? The Lord's greatness does not erase your value — it establishes it. You were created on purpose, loved personally, and entrusted with a life that carries meaning. Healing begins when you let God redefine you by His truth instead of your fear.

Not ready to talk yet? That's okay.
Healing doesn't always start with a conversation. Sometimes it starts with learning something new, or finding language for what you're experiencing. Here are some ways to keep exploring at your own pace:
Practical insights on faith, neuroscience, and finding freedom from what keeps you stuck.
A free guide to the neuroscience-based practice Tony has used with hundreds of first responders and trauma survivors.
A self-paced journey through the tools and teachings that have helped thousands of people break free.
You Matter More Than You Realize
You matter more than you realize. If this result stirred something in you, consider it an invitation — not a condemnation. God is not asking you to become louder or more impressive. He is inviting you to receive the value, dignity, and purpose He has already spoken over your life.
